Zolton J. Kortvely, of Wescosville, passed away on May 21st at the age of 85. He was born in Allentown to the late Joseph and Bertha (Deak) Kortvely and has been married for 60 years, this past October, to Joanne (McKee). He attended Allentown High School, Class of 1945, and then served with the Coast Guard and the Army, as a Tank Commander, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, in 1959. Zolton was a project planner for research and development with Lucent Technologies, working there from 1959 until he retired in 1987. He continued working as a realtor after retirement. He was the author of 2 books, a member of St Thomas More Catholic Church, the VFW in Macungie, a wine tasting society, and the Pioneers. His hobbies were bowling, golfing, and making wine. He was predeceased by his brother William and sisters Elizabeth and Margaret.
Survivors: He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his Wife Joanne, Son Scott Kortvely and wife Irene Kuehn their children Bryce Kortvely, Carlos and wife Laurissa Cardenas, and Brian Kuehn. Son John and wife Linda Kortvely, Daughter Nancy Schrader and children Alex and wife Jill Schrader and Stephanie Schrader.
Services: A calling will be held on Friday May 24 starting at 10AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM both at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown.
