William J. Marks
William J. Marks, 86, passed away August 18, 2011 at Gracedale Nursing Home. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Teresa (Leitgeb) Marks. He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. Marks for 46 years until her death in 1992. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Allentown. He was employed by the City of Allentown for 20 years until retiring in 1980. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He played minor league baseball for the Allentown Fleetwings and Omaha Cardinals.
Survivors: Daughters, Kathryn T. Marks of Allentown and Karen M. Marks, wife of James Mitchell of Fogelsville; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM Mon., Aug. 22, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 501 Ridge Ave., Allentown. Viewing: 9:30 - 10:15 AM, Monday at the church. (www.weberfuneralhomes.com)
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to St. Luke's Hospice.
