Obituary

William P. Hines, 77, of Whitehall passed away Thursday September 8th at St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem, PA. surrounded by his family and loved ones. His last words were,
"I love you" and he passed away hearing the same.

He was born June 11th, 1939 in the Bronx, N.Y. to the late Mary and William Hines of Kilworth, Co. Cork, Ireland.

After graduating from Iona College, Class of 1959, he enlisted in the New York Army National Guard a component of the Army National Guard. and simultaneous with his enlistment worked as a stockbroker for Hoit Rose and Company up until 1964.

In that same year he married Eileen L. Brennan and then began his career in the furniture industry by taking a position with Simmons Furniture, Inc. which took him from the Bronx, N.Y. to State College, PA and then finally to the Lehigh Valley. By 1972 he began work for
La-Z-Boy, Inc as an account manager covering the Tri-state area.

He retired from sales in 2005 from City Publishing a few years after its acquisition from
InfoUSA.

His proudest achievement was to have had the opportunity to watch his grandchildren grow
and develop into the outstanding young adults they are today and to have witnessed their
participation in their athletic, Church, Parish and School communities - much like their parents before them.

He was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and then later The Cathedral of
St. Catharine of Siena where he became an active supporter of S.O.A.R (Support Our Aging Religious).

He was a loving father to and survived by his children: Doug of Randolph, NJ, Shawn of
Center Valley, Brian of Montgomeryville, Bill of Macungie, Kirsten of Schwenksville and Eileen of Davidsonville, M.D.
Brothers: Mike and his wife Judy from Rosendale, N.Y.,
James and his wife Peggy from Myrtle Beach, S.C. Grandchildren: Doug, Dillon and Derek, Cameron, Andrew and Katie, Evan and Tara, Brendan, Kelly and Reid.
