William J. "Bill" Boandl, Sr., age 89, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Cedarbrook Fountain Hill Assisted Living Facility. He was born February 16, 1932 in Allentown, the son of the late John and Celia (Trinkle) Boandl.

Bill started as a bus driver for Salisbury School District and then worked as a building grounds supervisor for many years there. He enjoyed bus driving and all the activities with the school kids. He loved to spend time with his family and followed all of their marching band and sports events. He also played the trumpet and polka on the accordion. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hecktown for several years and the Hungarian Club in his earlier years.

He is survived by his three sons, Robert W. (Melissa) Boandl of Nazareth, Ronald (Anita) Boandl of California, and Richard (Tracy) Boandl of Whitehall; daughter-in-law, Kim Boandl of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren, Bradley Boandl, Rebecca Rhodes, Adam Boandl, Nathan Boandl, Kris Lipana, Alyssa Jorgensen, and Amanda Beil; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Szuchyt and Elaine Stauffer; and three brothers, John (Marion), Frank (Barbara), and Rudy Boandl.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in 2017 by his loving wife of over 65 years, Anna Boandl; and his son, William J. Boandl, Jr. in 2014.

Professional Services are entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. in Allentown. A Public Viewing will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M., all at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hecktown, 323 Nazareth Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18020. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Allentown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, donors@stjude.org.
