Obituary

Willard J. Stengel ("Bill"), 70, of Bethlehem, died August 9, 2018 at Westminster Village of Allentown.

Born September 12, 1947, Bill was the son of the late Willard and Minnie (Kloiber) Stengel. Bill graduated from Central Catholic High School and began his career in banking at The First National Bank of Allentown in 1965 and continued his 43 year career through their successors until his retirement from Wachovia Bank in 2007.

In 1969, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and was appointed as a member of the Recruit Training Command Band where he played saxophone on the USS Springfield. In his early years, Bill played saxophone and clarinet with a dance band. Bill also enjoyed bowling and caring for his cockatiel, Chirper.

Bill was loved and cherished by his family and friends. He was a true hero as he fought courageously through ALS for the past 3 years and still kept his wonderful sense of humor. His family would like to thank everyone who cared for him at Westminster Village, Bayada Hospice, the ALS Association, Veterans Affairs and his entire team at LVHN Neurology.

Bill is survived by his loving sister, Janice Piccirilli, wife of Ambrose; his loving cousins, Mitzi Berklite, fiancée of Moe Pagni; Diane Vogt, wife of Edward; Rudy Kloiber; and his many second cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Bill's life at the Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. located 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102 on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M with a funeral services to follow at 11:00 A.M. precisely. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Memorial Park located 1700 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109 at 12:30 P.M.
