Balash
October 9, 1930 – July 18, 2019
William Balash, 88, of Allentown, passed away on July 18th. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Fetkovitch). He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years Patricia (Barrett) and daughter Melody.
Willy served as a Corporal in the United States Army and after his honorable discharge held various positions in sales and bookkeeping. He was a member of the Franklin Home Association and St. Aloysius Young Men's Society for many years.
Willy, known to many as the "O.G." the "Book", the "Hat", "Boss", "Pop" and "Pop the Great" always had a story to tell. Whether it was about his days spent working with the elephants in the circus, brick coating in NYC, setting pins at the bowling alley, betting horses at the race track or vacationing with his family and friends at the Jersey Shore, these are the things he enjoyed most in life. He especially loved Sunday visits with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear ole Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family.
He is survived by his daughters: Corrie and husband Jan Davies, Melissa and husband Leo Wagner, Stefani Bilheimer and husband Joseph Rohrbach. Sons: James Laub and wife Cheryl, William and wife Rebecca. Grandchildren: LeeAnn and husband Tom Varrone, Jason Balash and Kaitlynn Wellington, Andrew and Connor Wagner, Bryan Bilheimer, Noah Guth, Alicia Laub and Laura Borrelli. Great Grandchildren: Jeremy Browne, Violet and Natalie Varrone, Kailani Balash, Zion Beasley, William LaTorre, Justine and Macie Borrelli, Lina Fowler, Liam Fowler. In addition, and with many thanks to his care companion, friend and neighbor, Michael Pruzinsky.
In addition to his wife Patricia and daughter Melody, he was preceded in death by his brother John and sisters Anna Heimbach, Betty Harding and Helen Sweeney.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 9AM until the services at 10AM all at Weber Funeral Home 502 Ridge Avenue Allentown, PA 18102.
