Wedrell Singleton, 73, of Coopersburg, died Sunday May 3, 2009 in Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Glenwood, GA, he was a son of the late Samuel and Mattie (Grant) Singleton. Wedrell was a corrections officer for Nassau County, NY Sheriff's Department for over 20 years retiring in 1989. He served with the Army in the Korean War then transferred to the Air Force. Survivors: Sons, Mark G. and Clay of Brooklyn, NY, Derrick A. of Bethlehem, Gregory N., with whom he resided; daughter Mona Powell of Queens; sister, Joyce Vailes of Brooklyn; six grandchildren. Predeceased by a son Brian S. Singleton. Services: 4:00 pm Saturday May 9, 2009, with Nathan Robinson officiating. Arrangements by Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, 101-B North Main Street, Coopersburg.
