Warren Eugene Herr
Warren Eugene Herr, 82, of Lancaster, died peacefully at the home of his daughter on Dec. 10, 2010 after nearly a year's illness. Born in Lancaster Co. on May 9, 1928; he was a son of the late Elmer H. and Mary O. (Stauffer) Herr. He was the husband of the late Doris Jane (Ream) Herr for nearly 60 years until her death in 2009. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Mr. Herr was employed by Penn Dairies for 30 years and part time for Lancaster newspaper for 15 years. He was processing plant manager for Lehigh Valley Dairies in Lansdale from 1979 until 1994. He was a school bus driver for Rider Buses and employed by Oregon Dairy in Lititz, PA from 1998 until retiring in November of 2009. He was an avid golfer and lifetime member of the USGA. He volunteered for Junior Achievement of Lancaster Co. He enjoyed gardening with his wife in later years. He was predeceased by a brother, B. Frank Herr, and two sisters, Emma Herr and Esther Ruth Butler.
Survivors: Daughter, Joan M. Johnson of Coopersburg; Granddaughters, Allison R., wife of Christopher Lacken and Ashley L. Johnson; Brothers, John of Lancaster Co., Harold of missionary in Haiti, and Earl Herr of Sebastopol, CA; Sisters, Edith and Mabel Herr, both of Lancaster Co., and Mary Kelly of Everett, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services: Memorial, 2:00 PM, Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church, 407 Lafayette St., Lancaster, PA. Condolences may be made to Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, 101-B N. Main St., Coopersburg, PA.
