Obituary

Virginia E. Walp, wife of Allen T. Walp, of Coopersburg, PA, died peacefully on February 14 at Sacred Heart Senior Living, Center Valley, after a
brief illness. She was 94 years old.
Virginia was born on July 7, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Esther Luchi, of Drums, Pennsylvania, youngest of the couple's five children - sister Aurelia and brothers John, Robert and Thomas. She attended Browns Grove School and West Hazleton High School, and after WWII worked in the restaurant business. She married Allen Walp, a master carpenter and tradesman, in 1950. The couple settled in Drums and had a daughter Pamela and a son Jeffrey. Virginia was an accomplished seamstress and found employment in the textile industry in Sybertsville, PA.
The family moved to Coopersburg in 1980 when Allen took on the work of Christian missions and counseling at Pinebrook Junior College, along with supervision of the college's property maintenance. Virginia was also employed at the college until their retirement in 1992.
Virginia was a child of Christ and a dedicated homemaker who tended to her family throughout her years on earth. She was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Coopersburg and was involved in the church's Bible ministry. She was well-known for her many traits including her friendliness, her pizza making and sewing skills.
Virginia was predeceased by son Jeffrey and is survived by her husband Allen, and daughter Pamela Rybarczyk and her husband David of South Carolina.
Interment was by private service.
