Suzanne Esther
Markowitz
June 12, 1934 – March 16, 2025
Suzanne Esther Markowitz, 90, of Allentown, PA passed surrounded by her loving family Sunday, March 16th, 2025. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Paul and Edna (Master) Ruch, and was married to Victor Markowitz Sr. in 1954 until his passing in 1997. Suzanne worked as a switchboard operator for Allentown Osteopathic and for Allen Organ stringing organs.
Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and loved to spend time with her family. She loved flowers, especially roses, and nature, particularly watching for humming birds and deer. In her free time, Suzanne enjoyed embroidering baby quilts and table cloths, lottery tickets, and ceramics painting with the neighborhood ladies. Her favorite singer was Johnny Mathis; she saw him many times and once gave him yellow roses.
In addition to her parents and husband, Suzanne is also predeceased by her brother Paul Ruch.
Suzanne is survived by her children Victor P. Markowitz, Tammy Devers, and Jodi (Jeff) Schwindenhammer; grandchildren Paul Dannecker, Angie Devers, Zach Devers, Eli Dannecker, Dylan Schwindenhammer, Victoria Markowitz, and Jacqueline Markowitz; and great-grandchildren Benjamin Dannecker and Elyse Rebollido.
A viewing for Mrs. Suzanne will be held Thursday, March 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home 502 Ridge Ave., Allentown PA, 18102 (610) 434-9349. A private graveside service will follow in the future.
In lieu of flowers, all are encouraged to make a donation to the charity of their choosing in Suzanne's memory.
