Sofia Makdisi Younes, 77, of Allentown died Wednesday April 22, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. She was the wife of Khalil Younes. Born in Mishtayeh, Syria she was a daughter of the late Youssef and Mariam Makdisi. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Sofia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all. Survivors: Husband; sons, Youssef of Whitehall and Elias of Allentown; daughters, Mona wife of Nagib Najm of Orefield and Antoinette wife of Ghassan Ferkh of Allentown; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Hanna Salloum and sisters, Selma, Samira and Saada all of Syria; nieces and nephews.
