Sarah A. Hanna, of Allentown, passed away on July 10
th
at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Joseph and Sophie Mike. After meeting her late husband Michael Hanna, she moved to Allentown. Sarah was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was very active with St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. She was a cancer survivor and volunteered for Sacred Heart Hospital, first running the gift shop and then continued on volunteering for 52 years. She also volunteered for the St. George Summer/ Fall Festival, for 10 years, the Ladies Auxiliary at church, and was on the Board for the Girls Club. Sarah was involved with the Republican Committee, worked at the voting polls, and received an award for 50 years of voting. Sarah was a Grey Lady with the Red Cross and taught ESOL Class at Sheridan Elementary School, assisting immigrants to learn English and help them with the naturalization process.
Survivors
: Son: Ronald and wife Renee' Hanna. Son: George Hanna. Grandchildren: Mark J. Hanna and Kimberly and husband Chris Hayes. Great Grandchildren Mitchell Hanna, Taylor Hayes and Andrew Hayes. Siblings: Edna Mike, Helen Catrain, Dolores and husband Merl Amic, Gloria Mike, Donnie and wife Carol Mike, and Donna Bish.
Services: Viewing Saturday July 14 th at 9:00AM and Funeral Service at 11:00AM All will be at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., in Allentown www.weberfuneralhomes.com
