Ruth M. Chalfa
Ruth M. Chalfa, 88, formerly of Allentown, passed on January 3, 2009 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home, Lexington Park, MD. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Mayme (Gaugler) Kessler. She was wife of the late Joseph A Chalfa for 48 years until his death in 1994. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Allentown. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1938.
Survivors: Daughter, Susan J, wife of Jeff Lewis of Colonial Beach, VA; Grandsons, Joseph R. Bauer and Michael J. Choffy, husband of Candita; Great Grandson, Michael James Choffy; Brothers, Eugene and John Kessler; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
