Obituary

Rosemarie E. Wiegner, age 89, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital-Allentown. She was born February 11, 1934 in Allentown, the daughter of the late Russell and Pauline (Pfingstl) Baver.

Rose attended Central Catholic High School. In 1967, she married John Wiegner who has since passed away. She had several different jobs, retiring from S. Levine and Sons in her sixties. Rose took an active part in her son, Michael's life. She loved taking him as a youngster to Drum and Bugle practices and competitions. He occupied a very special place in her heart. She was also very close to her sister, Dorothy, who has since passed away. Rose would often visit Dorothy and her relatives in Florida yearly including her niece, Barbara and grandson, Michael. She had her close friend, Lorrie McAfee drive her there. She loved family gatherings and holidays, always ready for the picnics and shindigs in her spacious backyard. Her backyard was affectionately referred to as "Rose's Grove". She had enjoyed many parties there with her friends. As she grew older, she enjoyed meeting up with friends for breakfast, lunch, and birthday celebrations. Rose was always quick to help her friends, whether it was taking them to appointments or caring for them when needed. She was looking forward to attending the weddings of her grandson Michael to Emily Grate in Florida and her grandson, Matthew to Mikaela Bean. Rose had an impact on many lives and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her son, Michael S. Wiegner; two step-sons, Dennis (Sheryl) Wiegner and John (Katina) Wiegner; step-daughter, Sheila Fox; seven grandchildren, Cory (Xiaomei) Wiegner, Christopher Wiegner, Jennifer (Brian) Freeman, Julie (Justin) Moyer, Kristen (Drew) Mery, Matthew Wiegner, and Michael Wiegner, Jr.; five great-grandchildren; niece, Barbara Kingston; and nephew, Dale Yeager.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in 1972 by her loving husband, John Wiegner; granddaughter, Melissa Wiegner; and sister, Dorothy Blackman.
