Obituary

Roger George Holzinger of Bethlehem, PA passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Emmaus, PA to the late Sebastian and Georgine (Fenner) Holzinger on April 16, 1941.

Roger served the community in the Bethlehem Fire Department for many years. He eventually retired from the Printing Department at Lehigh University. He was an avid history lover and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved supporting his children and grandchildren, especially when they marched down Main Street in the Liberty High School Grenadier Band while playing Waltzing Matilda.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Mae (Walck) Holzinger, his son, Matthew James, and his brother, Jay James Holzinger.

He is survived by his daughter, Kerrilee Ritter (Paul Ritter III) of Bethlehem, and his son, Jay J. Holzinger II (Nicole Tyree) of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by his granddaughters: Jessica Spaar, Elizabeth Ritter, Victoria Ritter, Jonea Cunico, Jayla Holzinger, and his grandsons, Jared Tengesdahl, Jalen Holzinger. Other family members include his sister, Rita, and his sister-in-law, Sharyn.

Services will be held at the family's discretion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites or to the Moravian Houses.
