Obituary

Rodney R. "Skip" Hartzell, 86, of Echo Circle, Whitehall Township, passed away February 16 at his home. He was the husband of Helen (Hasik) Hartzell for 57 Years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Claude T. and Edna M. (Schuler) Hartzell. A welder and later a project inspector for Air Products & Chemicals, Trexlertown, for nearly 20 years, he started his own business, Hartzell Welding Service, Vera Cruz, in 1973. He retirered in 1997. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, He enlisted with a group of Neighborhood friends on December 8, 1941, and served in the Pacific Theater for more than three years. Rodney was a life time member of Fairview Fire Co. in Allentown. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Danny E. and wife Karen of South Whitehall Twp., and sisters: Claudine wife of Ralph M. Wilcox of Fredericksburg, Va. and Dolores Biever of Allentown. Services: a visitation will be held on Monday February 20 from 7-9PM and on Tuesday from 9:30am to the service at 10am at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown. www.weberfuneralhomes.com In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166
