Obituary

Rodger H. Hartranft Jr., 76, of Allentown passed away March 5 at Lehigh Center. Born in Emmaus he was a son of the late Margaret (Laubauch) and Rodger Hartranft Sr. Rodger's wife of 54 years, the late Patricia (Millets) passed in June of 2008. Rodger was a proud Navy man who served with the Sea Bees during WWII and the Korean War, also in the reserve, totaling 24 yrs. of service. After his active duty time he worked as a self employed carpenter until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of VFW post 2124 and the Fearless Fire Co. He was also a Mason in the Greenleaf Lodge. Survivors: Sons; Rodger F. and wife Carol of Emmaus, Richard T. and wife Gina of Brunswick, OH, and Michael D. of Allentown; Three grandchildren; brothers, Wilson, Jack, and Marty; sister Martha; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Jim and Blaine. Services: Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:30am in the church, 920 S. 2nd St. Allentown. There will be viewings on Monday from 6-8pm, ending with a brief military service, and Tues. from 9-10am both at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St. Allentown. www.weberfuneralhomes.com
