Obituary

Robert M. Newhard, 76, of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026.

Born on May 18, 1950, in Coopersburg, Rob was a proud graduate of Southern Lehigh High School, Class of 1969. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Rob dedicated much of his life to serving others. He was an active member of the Coopersburg Ambulance Corps for more than 28 years, serving as a paramedic, CPR instructor, and Chief. He also generously donated more than 10 gallons of blood through Miller-Keystone Blood Center, an accomplishment of which he was especially proud.

Throughout his career in security, Rob worked for Air Products, Bethlehem Steel, and Fason before concluding his career as a TSA Supervisor.

Street rods were Rob's greatest passion. For more than two decades, he was an active member of the Wheels of Time Street Rod Association of the Lehigh Valley. While he owned several classic cars over the years, his pride and joy was his 1941 Willys. Later, he fulfilled a longtime dream of owning a Mercury, which he enjoyed customizing with his own personal touches. Rob was happiest when he was tinkering in the garage, fixing something, or lending a helping hand to family and friends. If oldies music was playing, he was in his element. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed watching television and movies, especially science fiction.

Rob is now reunited in Heaven with his father, Robert; his mother, Evelyn; and his brother, Kurt.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jamie (Marke) Wismer; his son, Michael Newhard; his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Ruby, and Grayson; his brothers, Glenn and Eric; as well as his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, extended family, and many friends whose lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others.

Services: A viewing will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2026 from 9:00AM until A Funeral Service at 10:30AM; both will be at Norcross Weber Funeral Home, 101 B N. Main St., in Coopersburg, Pa

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miller-Keystone Blood Center in Rob's honor.
