Richard J. Schellenberg

Richard J. Schellenberg, 79, of Allentown, died Aug. 13, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Adolf and Mary (Mack) Schellenberg. He was the loving husband of June L. (Latsha)(Arnold) Schellenberg since their marriage in 1975. He had previously been married in 1956 to Jean Anna Mae (Young) Schellenberg. He was a freight logistics and marketing specialist prior to retiring in 1992. He had worked for the PRR, L RR, PB RR, Bethlehem Steel Transportation Department and finally in 1985 as General Manager-Marketing for the six Bethlehem Steel Subsidiary Railroads. He was an initiator in the 1986 formation of the trucking operation Beth Tran-Carrier Express as well as co-founder and Vice President of BethIntermodal, the Rail/Truck transloading operation. He also was a co-owner of King's Seafood Restaurant on 2nd Ave. in Bethlehem from 1978 until 1986. He was involved in numerous community activities including Cub Master at Calypso School, Bethlehem and Assistant to the Scoutmaster of Troop #30 in Allentown.

Survivors: Daughter, Lisa, wife of Scott Schriner of Camp Hill, PA; Sons, Stephen, husband of Lisa of Corpus Christi, TX and Kurt, husband of Amy of Crosby, TX; Sister, Lenore Mathews of Whitehall; Brothers, John, husband of Dianne and James, husband of Kathy of Bethlehem; Grandchildren, Brooke, Brett, Craig, and Douglas; and three Great grandchildren.

Services: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA. Visitation: 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home. (www.weberfuneralhomes.com)
