Obituary

Richard W. Greenleaf, 72, died suddenly on Friday, March 22, 2013 while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico. He was the beloved husband of Diane I. (Michon) Greenleaf, married for 45 years. Born July 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Frederick M. Greenleaf and Mary (Hayner) Greenleaf of Allentown. Richard was a Registered Architect and world famous artist. He began his architectural career with Wiesenberger Associates in 1963. He went on to work with Huth Engineers and in 1996 formed his own company LB&W Design with long time friend Asa Hughes. Projects of note include the Lehigh Valley Mall, dorms at DeSales and Cabrini College, Wood Corporation Complex, BMW Dealership on Rt. 309, the Community Center in Lower Macungie Township and more. He was also in partnership with his son Gary in Greenleaf Art, a company marketing his artwork.

Richard was a 1958 graduate of Allentown High School and a member of the wrestling team. He was a Penn State graduate, class of 1963 in Architecture. He belonged to Delta Upsilon fraternity and was on the wrestling and boxing team. He loved Penn State, Joe Paterno, PSU football and all Philadelphia professional sports. He enjoyed traveling, the beach, cooking, painting and loved playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors: wife, Diane, daughter Holly Greenleaf Whitney and son-in-law David Whitney of Marshfield ME, son Gary James Greenleaf of Tucson, AZ, three beloved grandchildren, Michon, Coleton, and Ashton Whitney; brothers Frederick P Greenleaf and his wife Majorie Raskin and twin brother James A Greenleaf and his wife Gwen Baumgartner; Nephew John E Greenleaf and his wife Amy (Hill); Niece Jean Marie (Greenleaf) Anderson and husband Todd Anderson.

Services: Saturday, March 30th at 1pm (calling hour at 12pm) at Penn State Lehigh Valley, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, PA.
