Regina M. McGroarty Harris, aka Ginka, 90, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at her home. She was born April 27, 1933 in Allentown, the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Mary T. (Fedorick) Weber.
Regina graduated as Vice President in the Class of 1950 from Allentown Central Catholic High School. She went on to study Business Management Courses at Cedar Crest College and was a past president of National Secretaries Association. A native Allentonian, she worked as a legal assistant since graduating from Allentown Business School, her last position having been with Traud Law Offices. Regina was also a substitute organist in several of the Catholic churches in Allentown. She was a co-organizer of the first Grand Ball of the Lehigh Valley and a member of its Committee; also a former member of the USA Dance Assn. and Allentown Symphony Women's Assn. An avid reader and religious walker of Cedar Park, Regina loved listening to classical music and also playing it on the piano- her favorite composer being Beethoven.
Regina is survived by son, Timothy P. McGroarty and wife Natalie of Emmaus; two grandchildren, Stacey Hostetter of Center Valley and Paul T. McGroarty of Holiday, FL; three great-grandsons, Gavin and Blake Hostetter, and Caleb J. McGroarty; brother, Raymond Weber and wife, Emily of Parsippany, NJ; two nieces, Marcy Rubin and Reva Estrada of CA; nephew, William D. Sheptock and wife Cynthia of Bethlehem; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Halleman and husband, LeRoy; and two step-grandchildren, Crystal Prine and Christopher Halleman.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by first husband, Paul J. McGroarty and second husband, Stanley R. Harris, M.D.; two sons, Paul J. McGroarty, Jr. and Christopher M. McGroarty; two sisters, Bernadette Rubin and Frances Sheptock; and niece, Marianne Kovacs.
Contributions may be made in Regina's memory to the City of Allentown Friends of the Park, specifically for Cedar Park, or the American Cancer Society. Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
