Paul Robert Mackes
Paul Robert Mackes, 91, of Coopersburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles and Anne (Albright) Mackes. Paul was the husband of the late Natalie Frances (Ecker) Mackes until her death in 1976 and then he married Barbara (Stiles) Mackes who preceded him in death in 2000. Paul served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a shop foreman for over 50 years at the former Daniel's Cadillac. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. He held various positions in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was an endowment member of the NRA. He was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Carlier.
Survivors: Daughters, Jane, wife of Rosario Affa of Allentown, Marylou, wife of Robert Hontz of Florida, Susan, wife of Jeffrey Nichols of Schnecksville, and Nancy, wife of Tom Reinbolt of Bethlehem; Sons, Fred, husband of Jeanne of Center Valley, John of New Tripoli, and Michael Griffis, husband of Judy of Bethlehem; 25 Grandchildren; 40 Great Grandchildren; Seven great-great grandchildren; friend, Andrew Wassum; and many other relatives and friends.
