Patricia R. Park, 101, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Phoebe Berks in Wernersville. Born in 1921 in Lafayette, IN to the late Chester Raub and Merle (Gregory) Raub, she moved with her family to Southern California two years later. She was the wife of the late Robert B. (Bob) Park. They married in 1941 in Rolling Hills, CA after meeting as students at UCLA.
Pat was employed for several years as a secretary/administrative assistant with Werner & Pfleiderer while living in New Jersey. She took up watercolor painting in her 40s, becoming an accomplished artist who participated in several juried art shows while living in retirement with Bob on Martha's Vineyard Island. Four of her paintings currently grace the walls at Phoebe Berks. She and Bob were members of Lincoln Park United Methodist Church, Reading, PA for several years before Bob's passing and Pat's subsequent move from Spring Ridge to Phoebe Berks. She found new friends, meaning and comfort during her long residency at Phoebe.
Pat was a devoted and loving mother of three, grandmother of seven (Wade Raub Ackley, Jason Ackley, Legend Ackley, Rindy (Reid) Foltz, Bob Reid, Adrienne (Park) Baier, and Katie Park) and great-grandmother of twelve. She is survived by daughters Diana Ackley (Wade) of Canyon County, CA; Barbara Schwenk (Chuck) of Wernersville, PA; and son Greg Park (Donna) of Cincinnati, OH. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her dear sister Betty Salatich.
A memorial service for all of her many friends and family to celebrate and honor Pat's life will be held at a future date. Graveyard services for the family will occur at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring. The family wants to express its gratitude to the administration and staff at Phoebe for their years of exceptional care of, and service to, Pat. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory may be made to Phoebe Berks, 1 Reading Drive, Wernersville, PA 19565, with "For Phoebe Berks" on the memo line.
