Obituary

Patricia Hunter Patricia (Browne) Hunter, 80, of 2012 Westfield, Terrace, Bethlehem, PA, died December 23, 2011. Born August 16, 1931, in Bethlehem, PA, Pat was the daughter of the late Russell H. and Ethel (Van Natta) Browne. She attended Moravian Preparatory School for 12 years, graduating in 1949. She then attended Moravian College, and then on to Connecticut College for Women, in new London, CT, graduating in 1953, with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a loving and devoted, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a dedicated, caring kindergarten teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District, retiring after 20 years of teaching in 1990. Previously she taught kindergarten for 8 years, in the Springfield, MA School District, and also at a private nursery school in Longmeadow, MA. She was a lifelong member of the Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem, PA, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir, and was a member of Kings Daughters. She was a member of the Archives Committee of Moravian Academy and a member of the AAUW-Bethlehem Branch. Her friends close by and around the world were so very dear to her, and she touched the lives of hundreds of little children and their parents as a loving teacher. As an avid reader she belonged to several book clubs in Bethlehem, PA and New York City. Survivors: She is survived by her brother, Russell H. Browne of Fountain Hill, PA; her two daughters, Pamela (Hunter) Glover, wife of William R. Glover, Bluffton, SC, Martha (Hunter) Kasbar, wife of Wayne Kasbar, Summit, NJ; and a son, Bradford H. Hunter, husband of Carol (Huston) Hunter, Bluffton, SC; seven grandchildren, Preston and Elisa Glover of Charleston, SC, Nolan, Rylee, and Liam Kasbar of Summit, NJ, Carly (Hunter)Vopasek wife of Frank J. Vopasek V, and Van Hunter of Bluffton, SC; and a great grandson Noah Vopasek of Bluffton, SC. Services: A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Central Moravian Church Chapel at 11 a.m., reception to follow. All are welcome to join the family for the interment, which will be held at Bethlehem Memorial Cemetery, following the reception.
