Norene Louise Salvaggio ( December 19, 1941 to March 14, 2017 )
Norene Salvaggio died peacefully on March 14th at her Allentown, Pennsylvania home. Her warm and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Born in Shamokin, PA on December 19, 1941, she grew up with her family in Hazleton, PA. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Irene (Zalesky) Pugliese. She graduated from Hazleton High School in 1959 and from the Hazleton Hospital Nursing School in 1962 as a Registered Nurse. She met Tony Salvaggio in high school and they were married on February 1, 1964. Over the next 53 years, Tony and Norene built a loving and caring life together. Norene's passion was her family. Happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Norene was the heart of her family and devoted herself to their happiness and well-being. Extremely active, she loved cooking, sports, and Penn State football. She and Tony were constant companions and spent countless time together playing tennis, golf and attending the sporting events of their children and grandchildren. Norene will be forever loved and remembered by her family and friends. Norene is survived by her loving husband, Tony Salvaggio and her son Thomas Salvaggio and wife Destiny and their children Siena and Adam; daughter Christy Ghigiarelli and husband Chad and their children Karissa and Tony; daughter Suzie Spinosa and husband Tim and their children Timmy, Annika and Tommy; brother Thomas Pugliese and wife Jeanette; sister Regina Dugan and husband Ken, and nine loving nieces, nephews and grand-nieces.
Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Monsignor John Murphy at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown, PA on Monday 4/3/17 at 10:00 AM. Interment: Private. Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals of Eastern PA (http://www.easterseals.com/esep/).
