Nancy V. Bower, 93, of Allentown died Tuesday March 11, 2008 in Lehigh Valley Hospice. She was the wife of the late Ralph P. Bower. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late John and Almoza Derany. Nancy was a garment worker employed by the former Matte Dress of Allentown for 25 years before her retirement. Previously she was a waitress and cook at the former Fuzzy's Diner on Hanover Avenue where she was well-known for her great cheese steaks. Liked by everyone who knew her, Nancy always had a big smile and lots of good humor to share with all. Her favorite pastime was her weekly pinochle games which she played consistently for the last 45 years. While at Gross Towers, she enjoyed the company of many good friends who shared the same interests. Nancy remained active till the last few months of her life, still making trips to the casino and enjoying the company of her many friends and family. She will be missed by all. She has joined her husband Ralph with whom she spent 60 wonderful years. Survivors: Son, Ralph R. Bower of Allentown; daughter, Susan V. wife of Pete Treese of Bethlehem; grandson Richard W. Anewalt, Jr. and wife Kelly of Bethlehem; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jessica Anewalt; sister, Fran Missmer of Allentown.
