Mildred T. Spence (Gibbons), 98, of Allentown, died on Thursday April 7th at Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township. She was the wife of the late Horace L. Spence for 73 years until his passing in 2003. Born in Irvington, NJ on October 29th she was the daughter of the late James & Barbara (DePre) Gibbons. She was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Catherine of Siena, Allentown. Mildred was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her heart. She was full of laughter, loved to crochet, play games, and was always astute to the news and the world around her. The family remembers the big Christmas and Easter dinners that she would prepare. Mildred and Horace enjoyed traveling and loved Atlantic City. They were the oldest couple on the dance floor and were always the last ones dancing at the end of the evening. They enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Survivors: Son, Horace (Steve) of Allentown; daughter, Joan Mammele of Allentown; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, in the Cathedral of Saint Catherine of Siena, 210 North 18th Street, Allentown. Call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service also at the cathedral.
