Maxine L. Knapp, 86, of Lower Macungie, died October 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 1, 1932 in Corning, New York, daughter of Wendell and Elizabeth (Deuerlein) Knapp. Maxine Graduated from Corning Free Academy in 1950. She majored in Art and Psychology at the University of New York in Farmingdale.

Maxine spent many years working in the field of human services: in alcoholic rehabilitation, the care of pre-delinquent girls, recovering mental patients, and for twenty five years assisting the mentally handicapped.

She enjoyed portrait painting, figure drawing, gardening, and singing with the Christ Lutheran Church Choir and various other singing groups in the valley.

SURVIVORS: Maxine is survived by two children: daughter, Lisa Preiman of Sciota, PA, and son, Kurt Croushore at home; grandson, William Preiman and wife Jessica,. And great-grandsons, Mathew and Christopher, and her much loved rescued greyhound, Bennie.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Calling hours will be held from 12PM until the time of service, all at Weber Funeral Home 1619  Hamilton Street Allentown, PA 18102.
