Maryann J. Barone, 80, of Whitehall, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Styzewski) Mickowski. Maryann was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 49 years, Anthony Barone, M.D. in 2012.

After graduating with her bachelors from Cedar Crest College, Maryann went on to earn her Masters of Social Work from Marywood University. She worked at Children and Youth Services and was a member of the Red Hats Society. Maryann was active in the Fellowship Community of Whitehall.

Outside of work she was an avid cook, a wonderful dancer and enjoyed many outdoor activities such as: tennis, golf, and skiing. She loved her bridge and mahjong clubs and played Scrabble every night with her companion, Bill.

She was a passionate caregiver, taking care of both her mother, mother-in-law, and eventually, her husband, Anthony.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Karen L. Barone Sipp and companion Mark Allinson of Bethlehem, PA, John C. Barone of Houston, TX, and Stephen C. Barone, and his wife, Jeanette, of Wynnwood, PA. Grandchildren: Chloe Sipp, Eric Sipp, Tess Barone, and Nathaniel Barone, and her companion, Bill Meckes. Sister in Law Marion Mickowski, Brother in Law Ronald Barone and her beloved Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to her late husband and parents, she was preceded in passing by her brother, John Mickowski.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 10AM until the mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11AM, all at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Ave, Allentown, PA 18103. Burial will be private.
