Mary E. Whitehead, 84, of Coopersburg, entered eternal life on September 17, 2017. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Thelma (Kanable) Cecil. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Walter Whitehead.
During her career, Mary worked at the Western Union for 20 years until her retirement. Mary was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Coopersburg. She is remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family. In her free time, Mary enjoyed baking, especially apple pies, cooking, reading, tending to her flower garden, and spending time in the sunshine.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Frederick) Woodley of Bethlehem; one son, David (Laurie) Whitehead of Allentown; two grandchildren, David Whitehead Jr., of Allentown and Jennifer (Cory) Musselman of Ellicott City, MD; one great granddaughter; three brothers, James Robert (Evelyn) Cecil of Philpot, KY, Joseph Bernard (Wanda) Cecil of Owensboro, KY, and Darrell E. (Ann) Cecil of Philpot, KY; one sister, Anna Ruth Cecil of Owensboro, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her three sisters, Patricia Lanham, Margie Johnson, and Deborah Mayfield, and her four brothers, Larry Thomas Cecil, Francis Owen Cecil, Claude Cecil Jr., and Samuel David Cecil.
