Mary, 97, of Allentown, died on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Phoebe Home where she had lived for the past six years. She was the wife of John J. Kovacs for 67 years at the time of his passing in 2006. Mary was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Vargo. She had been employed by Sea Nymph in Allentown for several years. Mary was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Allentown where she had been a member of the Women's Alliance organization.

Survivors: Mary is survived by her brother James Vargo; sister Margaret Zartler; daughter Rosemary; son John; grandchildren John Jr., Lisa Filoon, Kathleen Smith; and great grandson Jacob.

Services: Viewing Friday, October 4, from noon-12:30, followed by 12:30 mass, both at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1825 Turner St, Allentown. Internment at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Whitehall, to follow.
