Mary "Edna" Shurgalla, 76, of Coopersburg, passed away January 23, 2019. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Pearl (Schwegel) Long. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Robert C. Shurgalla Sr.

She worked for many years as the secretary of buildings and grounds at DeSales University. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to New England, had a passion for interior design, and loved Elvis' music.

Survivors: daughter Sharon, wife of David Orr of Camp Hill, PA; son Michael Ireton of Easton, PA; brother Thomas Long; sister, Pearl Long, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving Old English Sheepdog, Tia. Tia worked alongside Mary for many years at DeSales University.

Services: A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 at 12PM at the Garden of Peace Cemetery 410 Fullerton Avenue Whitehall PA 18052.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's memory to the charity of your choice benefiting animals.
