Mary Ellen Arndt, 77, of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully March 17, 2024. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Richard U. Blum Sr. and Mary (Samer) Blum.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1964. After, Mary Ellen went on to be involved in many clerical positions, specifically, at the Youth Forestry Camp in Whitehaven in Hickory Run State Park, and in conjunction with her volunteer work at Albrightsville Fire Company. She was also a Notre Dame and Eagles fan.

Mary Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Janette Cavallaro, former stepsons: Gerald Arndt Jr and Michael Arndt; grandchildren: Crystal and Amber Cavallaro; great-grandchildren: Lily, Sylas, Allie, and Axel; and a brother, Robert Blum and his wife, Robin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by two brothers: Richard Blum Jr. and James Blum.
