June 7, 1943 – September 24, 2025
Our beloved mother, grandmother and matriarch of our family, Marlene "Marty" Nemeth of Limerick, PA, age 82, died peacefully on September 24, 2025 with her loving family, Carey (Beth) and Michael (BethAnn) at her bedside. She is predeceased by her husband John "Whitey" Nemeth (2011) with whom she shared a legacy of love and commitment for 49 years.
Marlene is the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Becker) Piatt. Marlene graduated Class of 1961 from St. Philip and St. James High School in Phillipsburg, NJ. She worked at Bell Telephone, was a licensed realtor in PA and homemaker. She was a member of Saint Thomas More Church in Allentown, PA and Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach, FL. Marlene was a woman of many talents. She was an exceptional dancer, a talented interior decorator, especially during the holidays, and she loved to cook, ski and play tennis. She and Whitey enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Asia, South America and Europe. She was a devoted Mom-Mom to her beloved grandchildren and made many happy memories spending time with them on the Delaware River.
Marlene is survived by her sons Carey (Beth) and Michael (BethAnn); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Perales (Lee), Michael Nemeth, Julia Nemeth, Kevin Nemeth (Meghan), Kathryn Zimmerman (Ty), Step-grandchildren, Casey Budzilowicz (Sean), Chris McCabe (Maddison) Beth Ann McCabe; great grandchildren; Liam, Liv and Leia Perales, Rowan and Rory Nemeth, Cameron McCabe; her brother Dick Piatt (Arlene); in-laws, Barry (Dang) Nemeth, Shirley Bussenger and Donna Curcio. She is predeceased by her siblings Margaret Buesing, Alice Maurer, Dorothy Piatt, Janet Byrne, Elizabeth Engler, and Tom Piatt.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude for the compassion and care provided by the staff at Arcadia of Limerick Pointe and Suncrest Hospice of Philadelphia. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave. Allentown, PA 18103 on Friday, October 3rd at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00 am-10:45 am.
In lieu of flowers, we welcome your prayers and love. Any donations in Marlene's memory may be made to Suncrest Hospice of Philadelphia, 450 Plymouth Rd Ste 101 Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462, or masses said in her name.
