Obituary

Margaret Zubek (Felegy), 94, joined John, her husband, in heaven on November 5, 2017. Their love was inseparable in life and now they are joined together again for eternity. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in May.

Margaret was the daughter of the late George and Anna Felegy (Balascki.) She resided for 91 years in the home she was born in on South Filmore Street. From her youth until 1971, she assisted her mother, Anna, in running the family owned, "Felegy's" Grocery Store, on the corner of Filmore and Saucon Street across from South Side Playground. Margaret was a faithful member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. Her life defined the meaning of family. She was a devoted wife, a proud and supportive mother, a nurturing and loving grandmother, and a compassionate aunt.

For the past 30 years she and her husband, John, were blessed to make numerous trips to Florida to enjoy their only grandson, Chapin, and daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Jeff. Together, they cherished special Holiday festivities, attended Chapin's school events, and visited the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

Most recently, Margaret resided in Brookview Independent Living Apartments adjacent to Cedarbrook. She spent her last four wonderful years creating many dear friendships with her neighbors and staff. She enjoyed attending community events, playing cards and always shared a dish of candy with visitors. Her bright smile, kind words, fun spirit and sweet personality will be missed by all.
