Margaret A. Scarcia, 73, of Allentown passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends after fighting valiantly through a complicated illness. Marge was a strong and selfless mother, grandmother, sister, friend, neighbor, co-worker and mentor. She touched so many people throughout her life that loved and respected her and they will never forget how she positively affected their lives. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Horvath) Garger of Allentown. She was a graduate of William Allen High School. Marge worked at Rock Hill Cement Company, Penn Produce, Kelly Services. She retired after working 27 years at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Patient Accounts. She was a past member/president of the Optimist Club and a current member of the Knights of Columbus. Her selfless acts are noted by her volunteer services at the Good Shepherd Home and she helped develop a volunteer program in Lehigh County to mentor juvenile delinquents. Marge enjoyed cooking, reading, word puzzles, and especially enjoyed time with her family and all activities that her grandchildren participated in. She is survived by her four loving children: Lorri Wagner of Allentown; Domenic, husband of Lisa (Barry) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Leno Jr, husband of Lisa (Demeter) of Allentown; and Maria Jo, wife of Tim Schwindenhammer of Macungie. Seven adoring grandchildren: Cassie, Shane, Drew, Rachel, Nicky, Nicolas, and Anthony. Brothers - Edwin and Michael. Sisters - Anna Ifkovits, Stella Luisser, Helen Lasinky, Hilda Maron and Anita Verholy; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, John, Louis, Frank and Stephen Garger, Edwin Schmidt, Rose Wolfel, Pauline Jandrisovits, Elsie Weaver, Erna Bartholomew, and Lillian Schaeffer.
A viewing will be held on Thursday July 26 from 8-10 AM at Weber Funeral Home, 502 Ridge Ave., Allentown to be followed by a Mass at 10:30AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Allentown.
