Lawrence M. Kneiss, of Center Valley, passed away on November 28 ^th at the age of 96. He was one of thirteen children born to Joseph and Cecelia (Zipf) Kneiss and was predeceased by his loving wife, of 69 years, Sarah "Sally" (Dutch) Kneiss. He attended Broughal High School, in Bethlehem, and then during WWII he served with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he received a Purple Heart for being wounded during the battle at Bougainville in the Solomon Islands. Lawrence worked for Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years as a skilled machinist in the electrical repair shop and was an avid gardener, growing many vegetables in his large  private garden. Lawrence was a member of Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, since it was founded in 1952.

Survivors :  Daughters: Margaret "Peggy" Libsch, Marian Cugini and husband David. Son Lawrence Kneiss Jr. and wife Cheryl; Granddaughters: Sarah and Elizabeth Cugini.

Services: A visitation will take place on Wednesday December 5 ^th from 9:30AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM; Both will be held at Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, Pa 18015
