Laverne G. Markham, 78, of Allentown passed away February 14, 2016. He was born in Wausau WI to the late Alva E. and Edna M. (Smith) Markham. Laverne was the loving husband of 40 years to the late Martha Markham. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and had served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. During his service Laverne was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the International Aerospace Union.
In addition to his wife Laverne was predeceased by his brother Norman and his sister Gladys.
Survivors: 4 sons, Scott husband of Laura, Jeffery husband of Elena, Todd husband of Sherry, and Darius husband of Angela; 1 grandson, Henry; 1 brother, Leroy; 3 sisters, Lucille, Pearl, and Gloria. Laverne is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services: A service will be held 11am Saturday February 20, 2016 at Weber Funeral Home 502 Ridge Ave. Allentown. A visitation will be held 10am Saturday February 20, 2016 till time of service, all at the funeral home.
