June Elizabeth Higgins, of Coopersburg, PA, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, passed away in the early morning of Friday, December 11 after a heroic & protracted battle with a severe lifelong illness.
Born on October 24, 1944 in MT. Holly, NJ to the late Walter Thompson Young, Jr. and the late Gladys Ella (Easlick) Young. She was an Honors graduate of Ramsey High School in 1962, in Ramsey NJ, and a graduate of Medical Technology at the Department of Clinical and Histopathology at Newcomb Hospital Laboratory in 1965. She worked as a Medical Technologist at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY, and at several hospitals in New Jersey before moving to Pennsylvania.
As a mostly self-taught and talented artist, she privately taught oil painting in her home studio for almost 10 years and displayed her work and won awards at many local art shows.
Survivors: beloved Husband Malachi (Mike) Edward Higgins III; beloved Daughter Robyn Elizabeth Higgins-Gibson and Son-in-law Frank Gibson; Grandchildren Bryan Higgins and Natalie Higgins; Brother Walter Thompson Young III, and Sister-in-law Dorothy Young; Sister-in-law, Susan Van Skiver; Sister-in-law, Deborah (Higgins) Schlereth, and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was the most dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed beyond words. Her Family is grateful she is finally at peace and out of pain.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the national Institutes of Health Division of Rheumatic Diseases.
