Joseph Schweitzer

Joseph Schweitzer, 93, of Coopersburg, passed on April 21, 2013 at Valley Manor Nursing Home. Born in Limeport; he was a son of the late Charles and Katarina (Simon) Schweitzer. He was the husband of Irene V. (Swauger) Schweitzer. He was a member of St. Paul's Blue Church, Coopersburg. He served in the Civil Air Patrol during WWII. He worked as a superintendent for D&C Spinosa Construction Co. Joseph was a member and President for two years of the Safari Club International in Allentown. The Safari Club International named Joseph Hunter of the Year at the age of 72 for climbing the Denali Mountains where he took his Dall sheep. Joseph was a Southern Lehigh School Board member in the 1960's. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Survivors: Wife; Daughters, Kathleen Schweitzer of North Wales and Patricia, wife of Michael Thom of Coopersburg; Grandchildren, Adam and Michael Ryave and Philip and Paul Thom; Nephew, Robert Yost, Jr.; and Niece, Lillian Kneis.
