Joseph R. Haftl, 82, passed away Oct. 4 at Green Meadows Assisted Living. Born in Whitehall he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Stella Haftl. Joseph flew airplanes for the Army during WWII. After the war he graduated from Lehigh University. He retired in 1988 after many yrs. as a manager of Endicott Johnson Shoe stores. He was a past member of the Austrian/Hungarian Sunshine Group, Krazy Kids, Lehigh Valley Senior Center, and the Foglesville Fire Co. He had also volunteered at Green Meadows, and Cedarbrook before he fell ill.
Survivors: He is survived by his significant other, Bernardine A. Keshel and family; Donna M. Ott, Richard D. Dotterer, James D. Dotterer, Steven E. Dotterer, and Rita deCastro; step children, Karen Longenbach, Raymond Keshel Jr. and Mark Keshel; several cousins. He was predeceased by brother Henry.
