Joseph G. Costa, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully in the Phoebe Home on June 9th. He was born on March 15, 1926 in Allentown, the son of the late Sebastian G. Costa and Augusta (Novati) Costa Dunlop. Joseph was the husband of the late Joyce K. Costa, who recently passed away in April. Joseph served in WWII, enlisted in the United States Coast Guard as an apprentice seaman in May 1943. He served as a Radioman, Third Class and then served in the Navy until August 1951. Joseph worked for Western Electric. He owned and operated the Gondola Restaurant and Keystone TV Service and Repairs. Joseph enjoyed time spent with his family, stamp and coin collecting, and casino trips to Atlantic City.
Survivors: Sons, Richard Costa and his wife Janet, Jeffrey Costa and his wife Irma, Joseph G. Costa, Jr. and his wife Deborah, Barry Costa and his wife Michelle, John Costa and his wife Anita, David Costa and his wife Susan; daughter, Susan Krum and her husband Tony; Brother, Angelo Costa, Sister, Carolyn Perinotti and her husband James, 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; predeceased by wife, Joyce K. Costa, son James Costa, brother Samuel G. Costa.
Services: Weber Funeral Home, 1619 W. Hamilton St. Allentown Call 4-6 p.m. Service at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 13th.
