John Vidoni, 83, of Allentown, Pennsylvania passed away on April 6th, 2010. John was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 27, 1926 to Lino Vidoni and Melania Revelant. He married Mary M. Parise in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania on August 20th, 1949. John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University. In 1984, John retired as a plant manager from Square D. Electric. He was a dedicated grandfather, loyal parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Church, and an active member of AHEPA 60, the local chapter of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association. He was a long time member of "The Over The Hill Gang", a group of men who had breakfast together every Saturday morning, and pizza and beer together every Tuesday night. Brothers Joseph, Arthur, Mario, and Louis preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Mary, sister Irma and her husband Angelo DeCrease, son Robert and his wife Virginia, son John and his wife Diane, and daughter Jeane and her Husband Martin Coyle, grandsons Robert Vidoni, Gabriel Vidoni and his wife Katherine, Jonathan and Chris Coyle, and Nicholas, Michael, and Christopher Vidoni. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. John was known as an active and gentle soul by all of those who he touched throughout his full life. He will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 801 N. 11th St., Allentown, Pennsylvania on Saturday April 10th, 2010 with visitation at 9:00 A.M. and a Mass at 10:00 A.M. The burial will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Macungie, Pennsylvania. A celebration of his life will be held following the burial with location to be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to Weber Funeral Home of Allentown, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice, Office of Development, 1247 South Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, Pennsylvania 18103.
