John A. Stevenson Jr.
John A. Stevenson Jr. 89, of Allentown, passed away on May 31 in his residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John A. Stevenson Sr. and Florence (Meekin) Stevenson. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Ann (Lawler) Stevenson. John was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where he served as a lecturer and sang in the choir. He was employed by Western Electric as a Department Head for 42 years, retiring in 1981; he also served in the Army Air Corps as a second lieutenant during WWII. John was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus Council 528, he was a life member the Telephone Pioneers of America, Brown & Lynch Post #9, and he volunteered for 20 years for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors: Sons; John (Jay) Stevenson and his wife Betty of St. Charles, Missouri, Rory P. Stevenson of Allentown. Daughter; Beth Buz & her husband Stanley of Bethlehem. Brother-in-law; Frank Lawler. Granddaughters; Maria Nunez Stevenson, Melissa Muse, Kimberly Buz, Jacqueline Buz, & Bailey Jackson; Grandson, John Buz; Step-Grandchildren; Jennifer & Theresa Buz. 2 Step-Great-Grandchildren. Many nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews. John was predeceased by a sister Rita Krank.
