John J. Pocze, 94, of Allentown passed away at home on Sep. 15, 2012. He was born in Liptoszentmiklos, Hungary on May 29, 1918 to the late Eugene and Gizella (Szamosy) Pocze. He was husband to the late Nora (Decleva) for 62 years, and is also pre-deceased by sisters Judith Finkei, Kathy Fekete, and baby sisters Rosa and Klara who both passed away during their infancy. He served as a captain in the Hungarian Army during WWII, and was a graduate of the Ludovika. While still in Hungary he earned his law degree. After coming to America he worked as a technician at Western Electric until he retired in 1984. He was a fencing coach at Lehigh University for 9 years, and at Lafayette University for a number of years. He was also a member of the Philadelphia and Vicinity Hungarian Sports Club.
Survivors: Children Judie and John A. Pocze; nephew Sandor Finkei of Hungary, and many other loving family and friends.
Services: Will be held at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 W. Hamilton St, Allentown on Sat, Sep. 22 at noon. Internment at Resurrection Cemetery to follow.
