John Mazza, 89, passed away on Friday, June 3rd at the Phoebe Home of Allentown, having recently taken ill at his home at the Episcopal House of Allentown. Born in Allentown, he was the youngest son of John Mazza, Sr. and Julia (Capitania) Mazza. John retired from a maintenance position at the VOA in Allentown, and was employed many years in local manufacturing. In earlier years, John was an avid bowler in leagues at the Jednota Club of Allentown where he was also employed as a p.t. bartender during those years. John's residency at the Episcopal house allowed him to make many new friends---some of whom he entertained with his daily jokes and his singing at holiday events. John's family & friends will remember him for his love of the Phillies as he was a lifelong fan. John was pre-deceased by two older brothers, Michael and Louis along with his parents and his niece, Patricia. Survivors: devoted companion, Geraldine (Toddy) Hoffman, daughters, RoseMarie (Mazza) Bauer, Marlene Rehrig, wife of Edward Rehrig, Sherrie (Mazza) Bosket, grandchildren: Lori Williams, Edward Rehrig, Jr, Erin Bauer, Ervin Bosket, Justin Bosket; great-grandchildren: Tanesia, Frankie, Edward Rehrig III, and several nephews. Services: A Calling will start at 11Am and will be followed by a service at Noon both will be at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown .
