John J. Kovacs, 92, passed away at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, on February 19, 2006. Born in Allentown he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose (David) Kovacs. John worked for Bethlehem Steel and then retired from the Phoenix Clothing Mill as a presser in 1976. John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing the Little Lehigh Creek until the age of 90. Survivors: Wife; of 67 years Mary Rose (Vargo) Kovacs, son; John husband of Catherine of West Chester, daughter; Rosemary Kovacs of Pittsburgh, grandson John, granddaughters; Lisa Filoon and Kathleen Smith, sisters; Rose and Elsie Kovacs both of Allentown, brother Julius of Allentown and several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and the Rev. Louis Kovacs. Services: Mass 10:00am, Wednesday, February, 22 at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, 1825 Turner Street, Allentown
