John J. Heckenberger, Sr.
John J. "Jack" Heckenberger, Sr., 76, of Allentown, died March 23, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. He was a son of the late Rosa Kloiber. He was the loving husband of the late Joan M. Heckenberger for 37 years until her death in 1992. He served in the United States Air force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He had retired from Lehigh Structural Steel, Allentown. He was a member of the Ranger Lake Rod and Gun Club, the St. Francis Society, the Franklin Fire Co., and the Egypt V.F.W. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Kerkusz, a brother, Paul Heckenberger, and two grandchildren, Michael Kerkusz and Mark Heckenberger.
Survivors: Daughters, Joni B., wife of F. Thomas Miller of Allentown, Jacqueline J., wife of Thomas M. Bonser of Salisbury Twp., and Melissa L., wife of Richard Schantz, Jr. of Schnecksville; Son, John J. Heckenberger, Jr., husband of Deborah of Northampton; Sisters, Barbara Martucci of Allentown and Jeanie Reppert of Macungie; Grandchildren, Christopher Kerkusz, Thomas and Jami Miller, Amanda and Thomas Bonser, Jr., Lucas Heckenberger, and Olivia, Ryan , and Kyle Schantz; and one great grandson, Ethan Kerkusz.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2nd and Susquehanna Sts., Allentown. Viewing: 8:30 - 9:50 A.M., Sat., March 27 at the Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown. The interment is to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. (www.weberfuneralhomes.com)
