John A. "Jack" Burggraf, age 87, of Allentown, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home Saturday, December 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born January 27, 1936 in Hazelton, the son of the late Harry and Mildred (Jacketti) Burggraf.

John graduated from Hazelton High School. He earned a two year degree at Penn State Hazelton, a bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg, and a Master's degree in education from Temple University. He volunteered at the American Cancer Society for 25 years as a game manager. He was the Business department head for 20 years of Southern Lehigh, the yearbook advisor, the varsity club advisor, and the athletic director as well. John also attended Scranton University, Lehigh University, and the University of Illinois for graduate work. John was a wonderful provider, devoted husband, loyal son, amazing father and friend, and his family's number one supporter. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He loved to travel, especially the beach. He also was an avid reader, and was always exchanging books with his son, Alan. John will be remembered for his sense of humor, thoughtfulness, and kindness. As one of his friends said "I always found him to be a wise and clever fellow with an impish and most infectious smile."

John is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda (Rader) Burggraf; son, Alan J. (Kathleen) Burggraf; two daughters, Debra (Brian) Gring-Roughton and Pamela (Stephen) Mayernik; step-son, Brian Kuhns; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a community that will always remember him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in 1993 by his first wife, Jean L. (Kleinsmith) Burggraf; brother, Harry Burggraf; and two granddaughters, Christiana Jean and Jessica Lynn Gring.

Professional Services are entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. in Allentown. A wake will be held from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102. Family will also receive friends at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, December 15, 2023 followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 A.M. all at Weber Funeral Homes in Allentown. Interment will immediately follow at Western Salisbury Cemetery.
