Joanne H. Jaindl passed away March 17 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Twp. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family who thought it fitting for her to pass on St. Patrick's Day due to the appreciation she had for her Irish heritage. Joanne lived in Allentown, but was proud to be a former resident of West Catasauqua. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Hilda (Haines) and Blair Piper. She and her husband Gene J. Jaindl celebrated 44 yrs. of marriage last Oct. Joanne was a 1959 graduate of Whitehall High School. She worked as a secretary for Allentown Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. until her retirement in 1975. In 1978 she was certified by the Library of Congress in Braille transcription; which became her post retirement career. She was a member of the National Braille Assoc, and of the Lehigh Valley Braille Guild. Joanne was also active at St. James U.C.C. Church in Allentown where she was a member. Survivors: Husband; son, Tony Jaindl of Coopersburg; daughters, Robin wife of William Stotesbury of Horsham, and Shari wife of Brian Cohen of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; grandchildren, Troy, Colby, Carlie, and Talya; brother, David Piper of Coplay; niece, Luann Stanton of Leesburg, VA.
